Actually it is usually whole wheat and chicken sausage with the works in non-veg, and they seem to be fairly generous with seconds as well as wafer packs, and a piece of cake in a sealed packet. Far better than the oily tikkas and potato cutlet kind of greasy stuff we get as "snakes" on the others.

So these subway footlongs or 6inchs which they serve are snacks or the main course meals on the flights??
Snacks, mainly, but also available during the lunch/dinner service if left over from the previous sectors. (Otherwise lunch/dinner is the standard mystery meat+rice+mystery veggie)

Correction: Flew S2 earlier today, and it is back to "normal" snacks. In this case, a perfectly decent and filling chicken kathi roll.

Air Sahara has lost the LHR slot and this happened when the 9W guys stopped operating the service. Now British Airports Authority is asking for certain million pounds to give back the slot which S2 is not willing to part with...
Few days back a meeting took place at S2 to decide the future game plan of the airline. Plus they have been using B767 on their DEL-SIN leg or they are planning to do that....
Well I flew them last night on PNQ-DEL, and noted that it was the good old VT-SIG back in action. Flight was on time, and things seem normal. Why would they shut down on losses, when everybody else is also operating on losses?

MEL i will give u a goodie hint. First there are somethings which cant be discussed in open but everyone is kind off aware of it. I believe u have been in airline industry for long and u might have a fair bit of idea of S2...
fine losses are there... But wat if someone wants to operate an airline in losses??? Just ponder about this idea. Maybe u will get some more clue as to whatz happening...
Spare us the riddles, please, gentlemen? I mean, simple question - are S2 paying their bills and salaries to people or not?
For the rest, very often there are a variety of reasons to keep loss making airlies (and tv channels. And newspapers. And cola companies . . . etcetc) artificially afloat.

Malikjee S2 pilots are best paid in the industry. Infact sahara lost alot of good people once it was told that the airline wud merge with 9W and wud operate as a subsidary. Things are back to normal now..
The current loads on S2 economy is very gud. They are planning to remove biz seats from the non metropolitan routes and create a market in which the prices are competetive with LCC but all full service on board which includes the meals and stuff are available.
Nimist BLR-DEL loads are very gud infact for last few days S2 were not able to pick up cargo which they wanted to due to good loads leading to cargo agents pleading with pilots to take up the cargo asap...
As it is said that nothing is impossible even S2 can fight this tough time and can even emrge as a very very good airline out of our imaginations but they really have to put efforts into that
Except if SR has a strong desire to sell off S2 after a year or so and repay some of his debts
BTW whats latest in the court case of S2 and 9W
