I'm aware of an Alliance a/c that had a hard landing at Chennai in 2002. The last i remember (around 5mnths ago) was that the a/c was stationed in Delhi, still with Alliance.
Chandigarh, December 13 For the third time now Indus Airlines’ maiden flight has been postponed today. The airlines had announced that its operations will take off on December 14. Indus Airlines’ officials today said the flight may not take off from Delhi tomorrow due to various reasons.
Captain MS Sandhu, General Manager (Operations), Indus Airlines, said, “Due to fog and a nation-wide call for a strike by the Centre of Indian Trade Union (CITU), it will not be possible for the scheduled flight to arrive from Delhi tomorrow.” However, he said the ultimate authority to decide about the flights is the Delhi management. “Who knows, it may come. But as of now, I am not sure,” said Captain Sandhu.
This is the third time in the last month that Indus Airlines had had to postpone its launch. However, the earlier cause of delay was sorted out today evening when the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) in Delhi gave the clearance to Indus Airlines to fly its aircrafts.
The DGCA had objected to the skills of pilots flying the Indus CRJ200 aircrafts after which Indus Airlines sought the help of Sahara Airlines as they have the same aircrafts as Indus Airlines.
Wing Commander Suresh Beri of Indus Airlines said, “The DGCA has given us the go ahead.” As a result of the clearance, speculation was rife about Indus Airlines finally launching its flights from Thursday. However, the wait continues.

Captain M S Sandhu, GM (Operations), Indus Airways, received and garlanded the passengers with sweets who reached Chandigarh. “It is the fruit of all the labour that company has put into starting this services. We would strive towards giving the best services to our customers,“ said Captain Sandhu. He claimed that Indus provided business class facilities at economy class prices.
It is the only airways operating a direct flight to Mumbai currently and had 28 passengers on its maiden flight that took off for Mumbai today. According to Captain Sandhu, Indus would make Chandigarh a major hub with direct connections to Jammu, Srinagar, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Lucknow, Kolkata and other major indian cities. “We would be starting a hopping flight to Goa via Mumbai from next week. Later the other centres would be connected gradually,“ assured Captain Sandhu. As of now, Indus would have one flight daily on Delhi-Chandigarh-Mumbai route and vice versa.
