I don't think they would ever join the IAF.

IAF needs an answer to the future.....not questions.

Even HAL does not have any answers to those questions......so you can imagine.

Time delays make the Programme Obsolute & Ineffective.

We need to Plan for finishing a project in a fixed time frame to be effective.

They did not find the program interesting......the found the barter interesting.

Some Dhruvs would be taken by them if we took a lot of their planes

"Dhruv" is the name given to the Advanced Light Helicopter and not the LCA. The LCA is called "Tejas" Dont think there was (or for that matter will be) a barter for the LCA.

The ALH [Dhruv] was interested by the Israel AF because of something in return.

The LCA has no takers yet.

Its eventually the IAF which will be a dumping ground for these junks.

I am afraid the GoI doesn't ask IC to operate those pieces of horse shit-Saras in their fleet

Saras is the first commercial plane built by HAL. Supposed to be "indigenous" technology. But i wud prefer calling another Russian junk into India.

@the380

Why are you not in favor of it?

Just exactly as you and most of us dont favour the LCA. This also has been a project since YEARS. And what they claim is "indigenous" is all RUSSIAN outdated technology + Indian technology.

The only part i can trust is the Indian technology sadly which is not much.

I am not commenting on the technology here, but on the basis if its looks, it really looks wierd, especially the wing root section. It looks pretty close to the ground.

Also, I pity the poor guy, who has to st in the last row. Imagine the engine just behind your ears.

Exactly!

And when the Ministry asks your airline to induct these junks into your fleet and expects and you fly them and earn profits, its irritating. There were news that IC was asked to induct these horse shits into the airline for charter-lease ops.

Good that it has been delayed. Hope it gets cancelled soon.

Actually government and people at large should realize that you cannot make a competitive craft in just one shot.  Just see how many varients did all the major manufactureres made before they came up with something that made a mark.  There are two things to keep in mind, first don't expect too much from first varient and secondly government should promise long term commitment to development such projects.

We might have one of the best brains, but then they lying isolated in their own silos.  I mean there is minimal direct interaction between research agencies and universities.  Moreover, nothing much is done at university level to channelize talent towards such project.  A bunch of IITs and IIS may not be sufficient to propel such projects.  AFAIK! Private funded research is still a taboo in our universities.  The point is that if you are promoting private enterprise, then why shirk from privately funded research.  At least it shall be more worthwhile than garbage that profs churn out to rise through ranks.

In short, such projects need long term committments and we should get over the idea of world beater in single shot.
