I was wondering if anybody has heard of problems relating to Thai's operations out of India or Thai's connections in BKK due to the military coup last night? My question may be too premature, but I thought this may be a interesting topic to start.
Depending how long this coup last, it is a matter of time before we find out its effect on NOK air's operation to India and the opening of Suvarnabhumi Airport later this month.
This is Thailand's 16th military coup in 60 years, and each time the military goes back to the barracks after restoring order. This time around also it is likely to be the same.
However, I now learn that IC has cancelled flights from/to Bangkok.
At the same time, a friend who is on holiday in Pattaya reports that he is continuing, and that there seems to be no problem at his resort.

Indian Airlines on Wednesday operated a service to Bangkok from Kolkata in spite of a military coup in Thailand.
Airlines officials said no decision has been taken regarding the cancellation of services to Thailand where Army Commander-in-Chief General Sondhi Boonyaratkalin has wrested power from Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra and declared martial law in the country.
An Indian Airlines flight with 58 passengers on board flew to Bangkok, officials said.
On Tuesday, the IA has cancelled its to and fro Delhi-Bangkok and Mumbai-Bangkok services, they said.
I returned from BKK last evening and everything on the roads' absolutely normal there. The loads however on flights to BKK have dropped considerably. But they're getting back to normal. Imagine 28 passengers on a 145 capacity aircraft....
Thailand is different now. Thaksin was increasingly unpopular and there was general public anger.
And this coup was 90% engineered by the King. Noting his standing in the nation as revered monarch and father figure to all Thais, things will be quiet. Nothing to fear.
As Suwarnabhoomi gets online, the Govt is also hoping that it will distract attention form the coup.
