AI Express website. What's wrong with it?
Permalink Closed

Not sure whether it has been discussed already. I was going through AIX website (www.airindiaexpress.in)

Observed few things.

1. Schedule is not available for most of the active destinations.

2. KUL is shown as connected to MAA (in the booking drop down list). But when you see MAA, the destination drop down doesn't contain KUL!

3. MAA-SIN flights are not bookable. (Not sure whether flights are operating now)

4. IXE (Mangalore) has made into the list!, though Pee Pee is yet to make up his mind on its International status.

5. The fares are not really cheap. They match IC's in most cases. I found MAA-BOM to be the best value for money deal. It beats many other LCCs.

Yes, Schedule is not current. Though there is an option of downloading the entire schedule. Not sure if this is current. Difficult to make a booking at times as it just times out.

KL/SIN to MAA is right now in a bit of a mess. Pilot shortage and Air India's plans to hijack AIX for a while are to blame. The priority now is to maintain the Kerala-Gulf schedules and then stick to the commitment made to have Amritsar-Dubai and Mangalore-Dubai.

Fares are not really competitive. Consider this also. IA's daily MAA-KL Airbus A320 leaves MAA at 0205 am. AIX's 737-800 MAA-KL departs 30 mins later!!!

Cheapest AIX fare is on Saturday night (MAA-BOM) at Rs. 999. There are giant hoardings announcing this.
