a week or 2 more??? for a shipment from HKG??.... apart from the time he has already spent waiting?

i dont think so if i were him..... its a good amout that he's put down too... and i really dont see why there would be a delay of nearly 3 whole weeks with nobody having a clue of where the parcel is.

Hey Guys,

I think people need to relax a bit. I can understand your anxiety JJ but you must understand that sometimes International deliveries take time. I think you are being a bit unfair to Nitin here. I doubt he has too much control over the delay. For eg I ordered a book online from a very reputable place. Placed the order on 16th June, delivery date was 13th July. Im still waiting for the book. Well this is an extreme but sometimes things do take time.

Give it a week or 2 more, it will be worth the wait.

Cheers

O Noble One,

Neither did i ever attempt to being unfair to Nitin or did i suggest he has control over the same. What he had control was in exhibiting the issue. This business was purely personal and Nitin categorically suggested that it would take 5-7 days. If i go by it, then it has been more than 16 days today. So i, did give it a week and two more before suggesting my anxiety (Not panic).

Maybe collecting books if your hobby, but try making it your passion and then see when it does not come, what kind of despair that you have to go to, would make u feel, sublime or should i say.....opinionated.

Trust here is not the issue, service is

JJ,

What I am trying to say, and what you seem to be agreeing with, is that Nitin has no control whatsoever over the issue. The delivery is being done by a third party not him. Ok we all understand that there is a delay, and how you feel about it, but repeatedly cribbing about it in a place where no one has any control over it doesn't really help either.

What it does do however, is that it may put off someone else from ordering, and Nitin loses out for no fault of his. Look I neither know you nor do I know Nitin for that matter. I am not trying to take any sides here or anything nor do I want this forum to be a fight. And looking at this whole issue from an observer's point of view, I think Nitin has tried to compensate you inspite of the fact that this was out of his control.

And yes Dabth, out of experience i know that international deliveries can sometimes take unreasonably long periods of time. I have had stuff sent to me from UK in 2 days whereas stuff from Sydney has taken more than 2 months. I dont quite know how the system works but I did have quite a few delays at times. Most of them unexplained.

And since you are so passionate about it you will enjoy it more because of the wait.

Peace

Hi JJ - this must be really frustrating! There's a couple of thoughts:

1. is there a chance that Nitin has pocketed the money and not actually ordered/shipped the parcel
2. is it the shipping company that liked the die-cast and decided to pocket it?
3. Is it just a routine delay on the shipping company's part?

There's absolutely no reason to believe it's 1 (you should have a tracking number to prove that it's been shipped)
Option 2 is very unlikely - but still a remote possibility
The biggest possibility is option 3 - that it's just a routine delay, or stuck in customs in BOM.

Have you had a chance to follow up with customs/postal dept in BOM?

Have you got the parcel insured (in which case your money is safe)?

Here's hoping that the diecast reaches you in no time! Good luck and godspeed!

Today a new chapter dawns :

I still have not received the model ordered with the kind ref of Nitin.

Citibank called my sister to report some suspicious card activity. Now i have another problem in my hands.

Nitin, i have a made a fool out of myself.

PS:. I do not think Nitin pocketed the money especially because he kept messaging and updating me. People who cheat, abscond not respond.

PS:. Somehow i am not able to manage so much conviction i have of sincereity towards the man in hongkong because he often changes his words and is very diplomatic. The parcel tracking number however has only one tracking number and when u enter it into the site, it shows dispatched hkg on Sept 13 06 and has left for India.

Now India is a big country and im still clueles.

Dear JJ

im saurabh from mumbai and i ordered a model with nitins reference to Wilson too... i had ordered fr an Emirates B777-300 and it reached within 2 weeks... yes i was a bit worried about my parcel but when it reached i was happy... all im saying is that Wilson will never do anything wrong and paypal is a secure mode of payment .. paypal will credit the amount to his account but will never give out the card details to anyone at all! so there is not chance of any wrong doing by Wilsons side... let the bank find out the details and then u decide n take the action... remember we are in India... and its the postal service.. so if uve been born here i dunt know y you are geting to freaked out about it...

cheers
saurabh

I was told it can be tracked here too.

They gave me a tracking number which i can see on the Hongkong Post Website.

All the site shows is that the parcel has been dispatched on Sept 13th, 2006. And yes Destination as India.

Nothing more.

For Saurabh:

Yes i am an Indian but don't like to take things lying down. Maybe when u realise that its hard earned money used for trying to build up a passion and a hobby, you would realise that its not freaking about.....but just trying to get to the bottom of things. Also, imagine when your cc details are up for grabs......and u tell me that the bank will figure out everything.....R u sane.....do you know that since morning im running from pillar to post trying to sort this bank issue. If you are an Indian, u would know that you have to pay first and then your queries are solved.......So any more wise ideas.......And yes if you speak so nicely about Wilson, Why does he not reply to my email dated Sept 27th, 2006, or is it that mails take time too

saurabh

Since you wish to play teacher teacher, and want to handle the truth or should i say prove a point here are some facts

(1) I went in for the model from Wilson because deaphen spoke high about it. I did address my skepticism, but deaphen assured me.

(2) I never meant, you dont value money, but obviously you dont value my money otherwise you would not dish me out advice, especially without knowing the facts.

(3) Just because my model does not come, should i blame the system, and sit on it or should i do something about it. Well, since u want to be a part of sitting, i choose the latter and took up the cudgel and wrote to deaphen, and yes Wilson too. Did i do something wrong here

(4) Yes i do have the tracking number, and yes the link on the website wherein i can check. If you can read my earlier posts without malice or prejudice, you would have noted, time and again i have mentioned that the website only gives me the date of the package leaving hongkong aka Sept 13th, 2006 and its destination India. Nothing more. Since it is so specific, why does it not show the address to whom it is being sent. U mean to say, or imply rather that Wilson has only sent one package to me in the whole of India or look at it this way, is India not address specific !

(5) You are dissappointed with my toneI regret and apologise if i make you feel like this. But on second thought......Try getting your credit card siphoned for 23,000 Indian Rupees by someone in China and the bankers scare the wits out of you, then maybe i'd come to you for my ettiquette coaching and get something on tone

Let me know if by complaining that i have not got my model, did i hurt you in any way. I understand that you will realise i have nothing against you, or against your friend deaphen (could read and realise your proximity from him posting the terrible news of the loss of a loved one). I am just expressing myself, or is that not a part of the system in India which you believe in.

An earlier post:

Hey guys

One more thing... i know its very early to say this but.... incase you guys want to buy from me.. and you do... and just incase you have any greviences... for anything.. i woudl appreciate it if you post something in public instead of emailing me in private.

Reason for this is that i want this to be totally transparent! Plus i think its important.

EG: Jumbo, if your model doesnt reach or like comes a month later.. i want you to sort it out with me over here...

thats just for example :)

regards
nitin

Dear Bob:

Yes i do remember posting the message about posting any greviences online. And i still stick to that idea. I would however like to say a few things:

1. The package to bob HAS been shipped, evidence of that is the shipping number and its just bad luck tha tit has not reached by now.

2. I have made Bob several offers, which i have NOT made public till now. These are, firstly, i have offered to pay him back to 30$ which he sent to wilson fo rthe plane. Secondly, even if the model does arrive late, i have said i will bear all expenses and the model will be free. There is not much more i can do.

3. Model art may just be a good idea since we are dealing with people who are careful about their credit cards etc, my main intention was to offer you a much wider choice of options that model art can ever offer you.

4. As far as the credit card fraud goes, i must say that it is totally immaterial to this transaction. As saurabh mentioned, paypal is a HUGE company and such an incidence would not be allowed to happen on their part, I have used paypal many many times. Infact, anyone who has ever used ebay would have used it too. Anyways, Wilson is based in HONGKONG, which even though is a part of china now, uses the current DOLLARS and not YUAN (which the money was taken out in). Another point is that bobn explicitly said that the bank said that money was witdrawn directly from her credit card and NOT from paypal. And again, anyone who has used paypal knows that no credit card details can be leaked.

5. I would stress again and appeal to BOB to give me details so i can reimburse his money at the earliest. I dont want this incident to go on because its gone on too long. I totally understand Bob's point of view because i have also bought lots of stuf online and have totally gone nuts emailing the shopkeeper because my model has not reached on time.

6. I and Bob have a good relationship and i further have a good relationship with Wilson, and i STILL trust him.

regards

nitin

The moderators,

I feel you should not permit members to use this site for promoting their personal businesses. This incident has created unnecessary problems and soured relations between members.

Nitin is a nice man, despite his offer to reimburse & also send me a model as a gift, i told him that it was not his fault and id rather settle for his friendship.

Without malice or prejudice to Nitin.

And Let Citibank find out and do the needful. My sister has signed the CDF and it is now Citibanks ordeal.

Hey JJ,

In case this helps, Im sure your Credit card is one of Visa, MC or Amex. If thts the case then u need not worry because they r huge credit agencies wid as u know a massive global reputation to protect. So if u have any feeling tht there r fraud charges on your credit card, or u have been billed for sumthin u havent bought. They will investigate right down to the penny and track down every place where transcations took place. And if you happen to be right your account will be appropriately settled and action taken against the defaulter. Thats the beauty of electronic transactions, that it can be traced. So dun worry too much bout it.

Cheers

No please do not do anything like this.

We are trying to create awareness on the Spotting and Die Cast collection in India.

You are king in Die Cast and I do not want my brothers deprived of something they did not even do.

This issue will be resolved. Maybe im anxious and yes too eager, but then i guess i would not want you ever to stop posting these threads.

As suggested earlier to you........Togetherness comes first to me, collecting after all is a hobby. So please post and yes let it soar.

My best wishes and support always

My model will come, if not i've got a friend in you for life
