Hey! this is a quiz to test your aviation knowledge.. proves if u a fanatic or not! enjoy!

1. The Beacon Lights signify...
a. The Engines are running
b. The Aircraft has PAX on board
c. The pilot has declared some sort of emergency

2. The Strobe Lights are turned ON when....
a. The Aircraft leaves the gate

Im trying my best to answer from the choices provided.I hope Im correct.


1. The Beacon Lights signify


The Engines are running [However it actually signifies Engines might be started/Aircraft might be moving as in pushback Aircraft moves with Engines Shutdown].


2. The Strobe Lights are turned ON when


a. The Aircraft leaves the gate [Actually when the Aircraft starts to Taxi out].



3. In the Aviation Alphabet the Letter 'F' stands for


Foxtrot


4. The Maximum Degree of Flaps on a Boeing 737-800 is...


40 Units  [Its in units & not Degrees]


5. The use of a runway is decided upon


a. wind direction [Also Weather,Temperature,sector flying to,load to name a few].

i know Mel has great knowledge bout this but since he has already let the answers i will too... so here it is:

1. beacon lights signify that engines are up and running or during engine start

2. Strobe lights are turned on when the aircraft is cleared for take-off (as far as i know)

3. In the Aviation Alphabet the Letter 'F' stands for Foxtrot

4. The Maximum Degree of Flaps on a Boeing 737-800 is 40 Units

5. The use of a runway is decided upon wind direction
