Jet receives IATA operations safety registration

Jet Airways (India) has earned the distinction of receiving the IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) Registration.

The airline has successfully completed the Operational Safety Audit and has entered into the IOSA Registry.

IOSA is a quality audit programme under the continuing stewardship of IATA (International Air Transport Association). It is a globally recognised and accepted benchmarking and evaluation system for assessing the operational management and control systems of an airline.

IOSA uses internationally accepted quality audit principles that ensure the audits are conducted in a standardised and consistent manner. Airlines use IOSA Registration for a variety of benefits, which include improving Safety within the airline, code share facilitation and audit reduction.

This is a very important step for Jet Airways, especially with its expanding international operations. ‘‘We have proven that we have operational safety processes and standards comparable to any of the world’s leading airlines, and we welcome the confirmation, by IATA, of our high standard of service,’’ a Jet airways release here today said.

By 2007, all IATA members will have to complete the IOSA audit in order to achieve or maintain their membership status. In advance of this deadline, Jet Airways is proud to receive this certification, Jet Airway’s Chief Executive Officer Wolfgang Prock-Schauer said.

The IOSA Programme is recognised by the member airlines of IATA as a benchmark for airline safety and quality. At present, 107 airlines worldwide have entered into the IOSA Registry.
