Jagson's plan for scheduled airline faces delay

NEW DELHI: Jagson Airline’s plan to launch scheduled operations is likely to be delayed. According to industry sources, Jagson airline has not yet obtained security clearance from the government. Therefore, conversion of the company from an air taxi operator to a scheduled airline faces delay.

It is being learnt that the presence of a foreigner on the airline’s team is delaying the security clearance. When contacted by ET, Jagson Airline president Mr UK Bose said, "The project has been delayed for now. But we are likely to get clearance around October." Mr Bose, however, refused to explain the cause of delay.

Jagson had announced plans to start regular flights on the key routes from May 2006. The airline, which currently operates Dornier aircraft and helicopters on feeder routes, is planning to take one Airbus A310 and A320 on lease to start scheduled airline operations.

Economic Times

considering Jagson is an existing airlines, what problem are they facing regarding some executive in their team.  Has it got something to do with their migration/upgradation from charter to scheduled airlines?

Charter to Scheduled requires some mandatory security clearances. It could be a cause.

Jagson has been trying to get into scheduled operations from 1989. It was negotiating with AI for the purchase of it's A300s but the deal did not materialize.
