Most Powerfull Take offs

which airlines or aircraft give the best take off ride,i know it is dependent quite a bit on ATC but the final V1 and V2 speed is determined by the pilots.i feel sahara is fast in 737 side and IC in airbus...

any thoughts

Are you trying to ask which a/c of which airline takes off fast (in greater speed) is it?

How is it airline specific? This is like trying to propogate the issue of rash driving.

If rules are followed it can never be Airline Specific. It will be Aircraft Specific.

Currently it depends on the Thrust output of Each Engine.

Okay this is half baked information here, V1 V2 are take off speeds (go/no-go and takeoff speed). these speeds depend on load, runway length, wind, temperature, etc. A good example for Delhi is a non-precision take-off on a 320 on Runway 28 will rotate at approx where the fire station comes to your right give or take around 100 feet.

this is largely dependant on the config the captain set the aircraft at during the pre-flight checks. The take-off ride is a BIG function of the runway, Vizag for e.g. will give you a really bumpy ride to take off, since the V1 & V2 are really close (around 20knots)

Welcome Laksh

I asked my dad to give me a comparision between IC A320s IAE engines and IC A319s CFM engines and according to him the CFM gives a much much auperior performence than the IAE

The pilots appreciate the A319 now more than the A320

And the burn is better on the CFM too

On my recent trip to HYD, this is what I noted:

BOM-HYD leg - AI A-310: Take-off run: 35sec

HYD-BOM leg - IC A-319: Take-off run: 44sec.

Any idea why the smaller and lighter A-319 took 44 sec to take-off as compared to the older and heavier A-310?

A310 has more juice for the size of the aircraft, CF680C2 engines generating 52k+ pounds of thrust each engine for a MTOW of 330k+ lbs approx.

Whereas the A319 with CFM or V25 generates approx <24k lbs of thrust at MTOW of 150k lbs.

The A310s have the same engine thrust rating as the A300-600. A310 has a good thrust/wt ratio, B757-2 with RR RB211-535E4 have the best ratio.

Additionally as A3XX mentioned there are score of other factors also that come into play.

I am sure u all r aware of the a/c data spec on a.net

Well hw about Boeing 777-300?? Recently came back frm BKK with TG. BKK-DEL leg was operated by 777-300 the power plants were by Rolls Royce. And i really remember the whole plane shaking each time the plane took off. I have been on SQ,s 777-300 and it was the same experience in regards to take off and landing...

A330 and 747 are not that powerfull in regards to take off... Just a personal opinion i dont have any scientific backing to this so i open to correction too..

B773 has definately got a better thrust but even the A330 or better -300 has quite a powerful thrust dont wanna comment on the B747

My last trip to India, it was an AC333 to LHR and then a 772 and 310. I felt the 772 as the most powerful among them, I have a feeling that 310 climb was better than the 330.

Not always but at times even the pilots make a difference

An example of a landing... while my flight in IC from DEL to KTM when landing at KTM the pilot didnt even use the thrust reversers totally on the brakes it was a very smooth and silent landing

While flying AI B747 from BOM-DEL i experienced one of the best take-offs ever hell sommth and gentle

The most probable reason for not using brakes would be locked out reversers, using brakes only is very expensive form of reducing speed on ldg. Many airlines direct their pilots to use reversers only on ldg roll to avoid brake wear, which leads to replacing them frequently.

B747 has the widest wings among all wide-body a/c, it tends to lift-off like a high wing (C-130) a/c if the a/c is light and flying in std weather conditions.

The pilot on the flight was an instructor pilot and even im aware of the fact that using the brakes only is not advisable as it heats up the gears more than using the reversers+spoilers

Heats up and wears BRAKES ONLY, not the gears. Add this to your list of ''I KNOW''

Lets add.Does not Heat up the Gear. But instead Heats up the Brakes & can Heat up the tires. The Main Wheels however have Thermal fuses to cater to Over temperature Situation.

So whom do we give the credit for the most powerful takeoff too....

The pilots and their talent.

The craft.

The engines.

or The fueling guys
