Air India 777 VT-AIJ
Permalink Closed

Can anyone tell me why Air India's 777 VT-AIJ is parked at a remote bay at DEL for the past two months? Is there some Mx issue with the aircraft?I presume it must be affecting Air India's operations having a plane out of service for such a long time.

Cheers,

Mayank

nope.... i dont think it'l be Mx issues... i think she is simply stationed there... visiting BOM only when she has to get her nut and bolts tightened...

she's prolly on a dedicated sector DEL-ATQ-BHX maybe?... dunno... bt it's unlikely that she's completely out of action for 2 months...

i know she's a rarity at BOM... AIK and AIL i see often at night... never seen AIJ though.. although i have seen her reg in the customs register at 2C on a few ocassions.

She is stationed there.....and lack of parking bays.....makes her station as where we see it now.

a380... a kind critical observation about your posts.....

i think you need to read the replies in many threads more carefully.. you often ask many a redundant question on many threads...

The YYZ sector is being operated by VT-AIK and VT-AIL for a long time now.I have been checking on VT-AIJ daily on my way and its parked right there. Its not going anywhere.I check it twice everyday in the morning as well as in the evening.

cheers,

Mayank

prolly scheduled downtime... and or crew/fleet rotation...

i dont think Karans sources would be that off target... considering he has very reliable sources..

crew and fleet rotation are pretty common with many an airline... i know we do it...she may also be held as a stop gap and backup to -AIDs LAX routing... i was told she did substitute for the jumbos to LAX during -AIDs downtime... i dunno if its accurate though since i dont really bother to verify many of the inputs from AI acquaintances...
