Due to the importace of the issue covered under this article and the fact that we have this thread in civil aviation forum, i've taken the liberty to attach the link here for ease of access, especially for the guests making a fleeting visit to the site

The best thing to happen to aviation in India, the happenings of last 10 days were indicating towards this i.e. AI going for wet-lease, IA looking for W-B, 9W renewing calls for more flts to EU and US inspite of losses on LHR route. DN announcing the 18month old plan for DN-Lanka without firm dates (I will presume they would drop this venture if allowed to fly intl this year, DN will not see any value addition).

Jumbo-jet, the most lucrative market is Gulf with AIX & IA targetting that sector with their limited fleet and manpower, i won't be surprised to see multiple carriers designated for the gulf probably with an increase in number of flts ( EY talking of doubling flts ). UAE, the largest market in the gulf has 3 (EK, EY & Air arabia) operators flying into India, with the emirate of RAK without its own airline it will be more than happy to invite all the LCCs from india, additionally the RAK rulers are looking at investing in SPICE. Regards UK, other than the major airports multiple carriers allowed to fly to all other airports in the last bilateral. US is open skies, plenty of options to keep the pvt players busy getting their intl services up and running for the next couple of years till they review the bilaterals.
