Yes it's an expensive hobby...I have 28 models in the 1:400 scale. Will post the list and photos soon. I used to collect the 1:500 scale, but gave it up after I discovered that the 400s looked much better. Still have a few from 500 and 200 left with me.

Regards,

Ten V

I have about 40-60 scale models from 1:600/500/400/250 and even the 3 CX 1:1000 models Sauraubh has, right now i am collecting 1:400 scale models.

DABTH i do have the AI 772 and 744 in 1:400 and 1:600 scale respectively.

I bought around 20 models on my trips to HKG and BKK in Dec 2005.

I also began making plastic models of fighter aircraft of 1:200 and 1:80 scale from the age of 12-15, it was my main hobby along with my sports than and i have built over 130 of those.

Give me sometime and i will type out my list of metallic models for yoll.

If anyone wants to know the list of my plastic models let me know.

Deaphen, where did you order the display case from? How much does it cost? I am looking for one for my collection as well.

Hi ten v:

Well i got lots of ideas for display cases online, mainly made of glass. So i got various print outs from these real expensive furniture planes online, and gave the idea to this high end furniture guy here.

I had earlier thought of getting a carpenter to make it at home, but then decided against it as it was mainly glass work.

The details of the case i have ordered is, its 6 feet tall and 5 feet wide. Its totally made of glass except the top and the bottom. That gives me 6 5 feet shelves which will hold about 10-15 odd planes (5-7 standing on wheels and 5-7 on their stands).

The totaly price for the display case is decided according to sq feet. This is 30 sq feet @ rs. 1000/sq foot. that is roughly rs 30,000.

If you want the various ideas i got i would gladly forward them to  you.

regards

nitin
