You must have noticed Akshay Kumar's new Video being aired on Channel V, MTV etc... nowadays titled Nirgun Raakh Liya... Please, please don't ever mention to it as a Song, as its the Gurbani, holy to the Sikhs. People unaware of it are mentioning it as a song... Please do take utmost care of it.
Actually I don't know the meaning of the whole Shabad. Nirgun means a person without any gun(basically without any good qualities). Even though, God has kept him besides himself and takes care of him. Gurbani refers to all what is said in the Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji. The reason why Akshay Kumar, sung a Shabad is that during his childhood, he used to live in Chandni Chowk, New Delhi. Gurudwara Sri Sis Ganj Sahib is there, where the 8th Sikh Guru, Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji sacrificed his life for the sake of Kashmiri Pandits. Guruji was beheaded. Aurangzeb, the Mughal ruler was forcing the Kashmiri Pandits to embrace Islam, rejecting which, they came up to Guruji for help. More here from Wikipedia.CLICK Akshay used to come here usually, that is why I think he was influenced to do a Sikh Devotional Album.

a slight correction. Gurumukhi is script and the language is Punjabi.

As Sanskrit is to Hindi in the same manner Gurmukhi is to Punjabi Gurmukhi is slightly diffenet than punjabi so, one who knows gurmukhi, knows punjabi as well but one who knows only punjabi may not know Gurmukhi
