Can we run regular audits to weed out fake and anonymous members, please? The Internet is no longer about being anonymous and it is also about being accountable as a group.
no strong feelings here, but most of the regular members are known. And those who don't post much don't matter..just my

The content of their messages would usually be the first starting point, from where one starts digging.

I am also a member of a forum of my state and im inactive there. They repeatedly send me mails reminding me to take part in the discussion and post there.
Also they offer me "volunteer resignation" if i wish to
Maybe something similr can be done?
Just a suggestion...

I agree the participation is still limited to small part of the members, but i feel in recent times the number of members participating have picked up. If you goto the list all users section it gives an idea of the usage. All members who have been here longer than 2 months and still have less than 25 posts to their credit can possibly be sent a reminder. What say?
Cheers

Hey Hey Hey guys!! No i dont think we should take that step for a number of reasons:
1. People who are signed up, my not be posting but they might be READING the stuff that does on here.
2. There are lots of people who do not like to take active participation but still like to be members of a particular site say for future use if they ever require some information.
3. The goodwill which this site has generated over the last few months will be lost to a large extent, i mean can you imagine getting a message one day saying that "You have been removed from this site because you never posted or you hardly posted". Bad publicity is NOT what we want at the moment, infact we are TINY at the moment, any memberships add to our prestige and name.
Well thats my opinion at the moment, i agree with Aseem with the fact that if these guys dont want to post, big deal! There are TONS of people in ANET who are members and do not post in the forum.
Well if there are such members as deaphen wrote, then they must be requested to post a message on this thread of their presence .Just a suggestion as i thought the same as him.

IMHO such members or any visitor can see the forum posts even without registering. If anyone of that category of just "viewing" can also view the anet-india posts without being a member too. This will help us have members taking effective part in discussion. As far as idle members in anet are concerned, the members there pay fat sums so it doesn't matter whether they post or do not post as the site gets the money it wants. We are not a paying site.
Just my
