is there any aviation magazine in india. few months back i read on a.net aboutt business standard's open sky magazine but i could not find any information about this on net. any information
There was one called "Vayu" and printed out of DELHI.
Content was by a group of IAF men. But very dependent on newspaper stories. It had a few articles of analysis (one great one that was over 9 pages long with diagrams was on what Air India should buy and the author was for the 777!! It was analysed against the A340-300 and the MD-11), a humour column with cartoons (Sardarji jokes style of Santa and Banta) and lots of military news.
Quite nice, but not sure about it. Decent subscription also.
If anyone knows if it's still around am wanting to start buying it again.
instead of starting an airline which lets face it will only happen in our fantasy world, why not start an Aviation magazine----Think about it is feasible
We have photographers
We have journalist
We have budding enthusiasts
We have Maintainaince experts
And i am sure if we all pool in we can easily secure the funding
Only one thing i am not sure is the market for the magazine unless we tie up with Hindustan times or DNA or something
I read the August issue of Open Sky - it was quite decent (though very small). Of course they did not touch upon real issues (like crowding, improvement in ATC and AAI facilities etc.), but it's too premature for that I guess. I wish they would make it a paid magazine and sell it directly (rather than it being free with some other newspaper/ magazine).
