US aviation major Bell Helicopter delivered its 70th aircraft to the country by handing over a seven-seat 407 helicopter to Pawan Hans at a ceremony here today. Pawan Hans Helicopters chairman and managing director Nagar V Sridhar told reporters, ‘‘This is the fourth 407 in our fleet and we have been happy with the performance of the helicopter.’’ The 407 can be used for high-altitude flights and has been used to ferry people on the pilgrimage to Kedarnath and Amarnath, Sridhar said. The new helicopter will be used for transporting VIPs by the Punjab Government, a release said. ‘‘Pawan Hans has consistently shown confidence in our helicopters. This is the seventh Bell helicopter in Pawan Hans’ fleet of 33,’’ said Wing Commander (retired) B S Singh Deo, the managing director of Bell Helicopter India.
