Mumbai airport first requires a second parallel runway. With it the slums will be demolished.


To accomodate more number of aircrafts, additional parking bays have to be built. With aviation experts predicting a steep rise in usage of air route, terminals have to be expanded and upgraded. 


And as a cost tpwards maintanence, commercial establishments have to be built- restuarants and malls.

Sure 380, thanks for the suggestion. Actually, the new party GVK is busy drawing plans of the kind.


Space and slums are the major constraints they face. i pity the poor chaps who have migrated from a spacious city like Hyderabad to congested Mumbai.

my vote goes for more parking bays, and along with that comes proportionate amount of runways and ATC upgrade.

Speaking of plans even the Civil Aviation Ministry had a lot of plans to renovate the BOM and DEL airports to world class...

Well, GVK was one of five companies involved in the construction of world known Nagarjunasagara dam. They are known for international quality.


If they are not pressurised by constriants, i am sure they'l do well. They appeard down to earth in the press conference held in Mumbai in mid-June.

Its not the case of being a good company or not but the question is how many problems wud the govt make intentionally to slower the pace of work for many political reasons

I hear that some one here in a certain post that we must get over the BOM fever....


Well, i feel that if BOM does not get a new identity soon, then there will be more intellectual frustration rather than any social development.


It's high time we need some identity.....not just idealogies
