BBC TV (June 21, 2006) says that San Francisco is all set to be the first to screen all passenger plane cargo. San Francisco International Airport will be the first in the US to screen all passenger aircraft cargo for explosives.
The Department of Homeland Security, the Transportation Security Administration and airport officials have signed an agreement to launch a $30-million programme and then move it to two other unannounced airports.
There will be more hi-tech measures in addition to bomb-sniffing dogs and X-ray machines, to cargo.
