Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004 - A Century of Flight, is the best in the market. Just picked one a few days ago. It rocks. Highly recommended.

Here's the link http://www.microsoft.com/games/flightsimulator/

You are right. I used to work with a team that did technical support for FS2004 and believe me it is the best. The level of realism and detail is really great.

In fact, we used to get calls from some airline pilots who used to hone their skills by practicing with FS2004. I remember one guy who had set up three LCD monitors side by side to give a realistic cockpit view. He had a flight yoke set up to give him a feel of the actual flight controls

Oh I forgot to add one more thing. FS 2004 also has a certification system built in. You can get a certificate for your "First Solo flight" and then a "Private Pilot". There are further stages like "Cargo Pilot", etc

I completed my "Private Pilot" certificate flying a Boeing 737 out and into BOM. Take off and landing was on 09-27

Well .... adding to what everyone else said, MS Flight Simulator is pretty good.
Here at ERAU our tutor labs have Flight Sim, it’s obviously not as realistic as the Frasca FTDs but for a computer based sim it’s not bad. It has nice features ..... and can be especially helpful when you want to do some instrument flying (holding, DME arcs etc)

Actually I have lots right now. Maybe just till next month when my studies begin and also work starts pouring in. But then you need to make time to enjoy your passion. And after what I've paid for the sim, i'd better make time. That reminds me MEL have you found a scanner?

fs2004 by itself is absolutely crap.... you will need a lot more addons to make it absolutely thrilling.... these addons... some free... the most are payware... are the only way that game ever becomes more realistic and fun

may i recommend visiting these sites...

www.avsim.com
www.precisionmanuals.com ----- the best ever simulation of any commercial jet... and that too for the 744... what more does a simmer ask for?

www.leveldsim.com
www.commerciallevelsimualtions.com
www.projectopensky.com
www.aerosoft.com
www.hifisim.com
www.fscloud9.com
www.overland.co.jp/japaneseairports/
www.flight1.com
