Weight may not be an issue if the first class concept is completely revamped, and actually offer proper suites(not EK types), and sell them for a price higher than the normal First fares. I guess there are a few routes in the world where such a market exists, SIN-LHR and JFK-LHR come to my mind

I gave the example of BA earlier, elaborating further, you must have surely read about their fleet renewal stories. Now if you look at BAs competitors on its 2 most lucrative routes you'll find they have placed orders for A380. As declared by Willie walsh India is BAs most lucrative route after US.
Finally, who has ordered a passenger version of the 747-8? Tex
if u must know then i ll tell u that one Kuwait or Saudi Sheikh has ordered a B747-8. And even EK has oredered B747-8F but Cargo at Farnborough guess all know that.
Also if one sees the 748 videos on the boeing website. Is the sky loft realistic idea?? I mean it could be but how would such suites be priced???
It is surely a realistic idea as said about SRB and even our own VJM if he opts for Boeing for a change. Even airlines like SQ and EK might have such facilities maybe just one or two but its possible and there are people ready to pay for it.

Yeah but realistically do u think any airline is actually going to do that?
I guess time will tell
With enviourmental lobbies, and the church now, gunning for taxes on the flying public for the damage (alleged) aircrafts cause to the enviourment it will be diff for these airlines to justify such gimmicks, and sell it to corporates.

Is it just me, or is the 777LR , 787 and 747-8 suddenly looking vulnerable?
SQ just went for the A350 in large droves as did some other aircraft. I only Boeing leads for the year, but SQ is the bluest of the blue chip airlines.
Next, SQ announced that they would NOT be getting rid of their A345. Another loss for the 772LR.
Finally, who has ordered a passenger version of the 747-8?
Thus, all of a sudden, despite the A380 troubles, Airbus isn't in that bad of shape.
Sincerely,
Tex
SQ as usual is exploiting its position, In the past BOEING has used SQs BLUE CHIP status to market its product, however with liberalisation sweeping countries like China and India, along with the ME airlines trying to clone SIN and SQ business model with their petro-dollars, competition is bitting into SQ profits (last profit statements incl sale of office block in SIN), In words of the legendary Bob Crandall - ex CEO AA '' You are as good as your nearest competitor''. SQs list of competitors with matching calibre is increasing rapidly.
Don't read too much into the decision to keep A345, their retention could be tied to the sale of A330 & A350. Airbus has publicly stated any performance loss from A345/6 can be compensated by pricing.
