'NEW DELHI, MAY 12: The suggestion to grant permission to all private airlines to fly to international destinations by relaxing the eligibility criteria of a minimum fleet strength of 20 aircraft and five years of operating experience was turned down by the Civil Aviation ministry in its consultative committee meeting today."
"NEW DELHI: Air India on Friday regained the safety audit certification of the International Air Transport Association (IATA) it had failed in February, claiming that the highest standards of safety were being followed by it. “We have got back the IOSA certification after international auditors carried out audits and cleared us,” A-I CMD K Thulasidass said. So, is there a greater likelyhood of VM starting off from US considering his big birds will be arriving well before the fifth anniversary. And also Cap.Gopinath stepping on the gas of Deccan Lanka?
Is it possible to do that without seriously ruffling GoI's feathers?
Will it be that easy to start operations from overseas, considering you need the support of host country? The existing carriers of those countries must be having estabalished lobby of their own. To be more specific, is it that easy to buy into a foreign airlines when you are new to that environment.
I got a difference of opinion here Aseem I have always loved IC because in the past they used to use A300,s on their metropolitan routes. Personally i like widebody jets more than the single aisle family aircrafts. Though they dont have anymore A300,s to use and are back to A320,s I wud still luv to see them fly their widebody jets on certain dense domestic routes say like DEL-BOM, DEL-BLR, DEL-MAA, DEL-HYD, DEL-CCU, BOM-BLR.
I know their is fantastic peak demand on all these sectors esp in the early morning and evening slots. I wonder why private carriers are shying away from using widebody jets. Either they are not financially strong that much ?
Qantas uses B767 on domestic legs and i guess they use 747-300 on their SYD-PER legs and A330 on certain routes too..
Maybe its just a myth but flying in 737,s or A320 gives a cramped up feeling and maybe its worst in LCC,s
Atleast i have decided onething wont fly any indian pvt carrier on any international legs till they are using a widebody jet or if they are offering really a cheapy dirty deal like IC normally does to fill up its planes...
