I still feel calling the media is essential... because then some action might be taken and an "inquiry" will be probed

Avijeet honestly speaking its much more easier to type here than to actually do all this. Sorrie if u find me being critical but the question is how many of us have actually got the time to do all this jugglary out of our busy proffessional lives. We are aviation enthusiasts let us remain one and enjoy the dynamic nature of the aviation industry here in India.

As far as human life is concerned c,mon we all knw it human life is cheap in india as it is found in abundance. Even a small freek accident killing any of the workers would just add to the statistics and one might find the news abt the same on some 7th page of the dailies.

Mr Malik i guess has already highlighted this issue to the PRO at IGIA now let him do whatever he wants to do about it

Chaos fogs up Delhi airport for second day

New Delhi, Dec 13 (IANS) Chaos ruled the international and domestic airports in the national capital for the second day Wednesday as fog disrupted the schedule of over 100 flights.

A thick blanket of fog covered the capital sky in the early hours of Wednesday, forcing airport authorities to shut down the runway from 6:05 a.m. to 7:20 a.m.

Passengers were seen waiting in the airport for hours, as they did not receive any concrete information from concerned authorities about the status of their flights.

'Thirty flights were rescheduled as runway visibility was below the 500-metre mark. However, after 7.30 a.m., visibility improved and some flights started taking off,' said an Airport Authority of India (AAI) official.

Two flights - a Spicejet flight to Srinagar and an Air Deccan flight to Bangalore - were also cancelled.

Delhi airport going the Chinese way

Restaurant chain "Yo-China" to open an outlet at the terminal

NEW DELHI: The international terminal at Delhi airport is all set to acquire a Chinese flavour. Serving up better food as part of its revamp plans, Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) has given the popular Chinese fast-food restaurant chain "Yo-China'' a contract to open an outlet at the terminal.

Known for its Chinese food "desi'' style, "Yo-China'' has become a familiar brand in most markets across the Capital. Offering people a taste of China at low prices, "Yo-China'' blends the spice of street-food with the squeaky-clean atmosphere of a fast food restaurant. And the authorities are hoping that this combination of good value for money will probably work for the air passengers.

....

"We had received many complaints about the food at the airport. So we have tried to provide outlets for every pocket. There will be Nescafe outlets at the airport. We have also got a counter for hot corn that has become popular,'' said an airport official.

The counter for hot corn has been set up outside the domestic arrival where airport officials hope it will be a popular snack. Apart from newcomers, DIAL is also all set to bring an old favourite to the airport. Having tied up with Nirula's -- Delhi's own fast food chain that has recently been bought by a Malaysian firm -- there will be burgers and fries at the airport too.

"Most of the items served at Nirula's, which will open at the domestic airport in the next few days, will be dry. But there will be some milk shakes,'' revealed an airport official.

And finally to cater to the traditional Indian palate, there is "Balaji Express'', a restaurant that is open 24 hours and offers the usual "idli-dosa'' fare along with huge "thalis'' and North Indian food. There is also a new section of the restaurant, "Balaji Grand''.....

Visited Yo China once in Vasant Vihar and i tell u its criminal on their part to call the food they serve as chinese. Infact its even a worst version of punjabi chinese commonly available. I wish some under decent chain could have managed things AAI could have tried comesum food plazas which we have H.NZM stn and DLI Stn. they seem to be doing well. Bt anyways good thing is the cost of having a meal at the airport wud come down...

Nirula takeaway outlet at IGIA is a positive development...
