Israel says it has ‘‘concrete’’ warning of al-Qaeda attack in Goa
Jerusalem, Dec. 14 (UNI)
Israel’s counter-terrorism unit issued a warning Wednesday against travel to the Indian state of Goa, saying it had ‘‘concrete’’ intelligence that al-Qaeda was planning a terrorist attack there during the New Year. ‘‘A concrete threat now exists specifically for the Indian State of Goa, which hosts many tourists, among them Israelis, during late December and over the civil New Year,’’ said a statement issued by the Israeli government’s National Security Council Counter Terrorism Headquarters. ‘‘Those traveling to Goa in the next few weeks will be under serious threat of al-Qaeda terrorist attacks,’’ the statement said.
