goofups they may appear to be.. but incase you didnt know (im being genuine here and am not trying to pull on an attitude).. these occurrences have been attributed to the fact that the snapshots have been taken by the satellite passing over that particular region and several frames being used to create these maps.. i think you may know it already but i just wanted to explain it... dont think i managed to do too good a job at it

a similar thing with multiple threads on A.net and other forums where users saw 2 or 3 jumbos appearing to have taken off one behind the other separated by a very short distance... which confused the topic starter.. until other members explained to him it was just the same aircraft snapped is short successions as the satellite took the survey over the area being mapped.. resulting in "ghosting" or fast-forward/slow motion "freeze frames"

I am aware that such a thing can happen. But this is not what has happened in this case. These maps are of the Vasai area which is a distant suburb of Mumbai. If you look closely at the second pic, you will see that there is heavy traffic on one half (the left half) of the fly-over & almost none on the other half.

In the same picture, below the flyover a train can be seen but above it the train vanishes.( I do not literally mean below, but on the lower side of the flyover when the pic is seen on the screen). This is an indication that there has been some mistake while overlaying two images of the same place taken at different times.

that is exactly what i meant... you might mean positioning when overlaying.. i was referring to the fact that the disappearances and lack of traffic etc is precisely explained by the time lag and due to the fact that the shots were taken at vastly different time periods.. on maybe different days together if not completely different time
