I might be travelling this Nov. or Dec to MAA. So i was thinking of taking my camera. But the question is will the security permit batteries in the cam?

Yes, batteries in the camera are definitely permitted!
Hey, if you want to play nasty with anyone who questions you, show them the DGCA photography permit. Tell them that they would be defying a direct DGCA order if they did not allow you to carry batteries in your camera (thereby preventing you from clicking pics inside the aircraft)

I am told that they totally feign ignorance over the photography permit.
Any one recall any incident when they did not allow even after a permit being show to them.
When i was coming to Delhi from Jammu, the security ppl took my nimh batteries and that was the last i saw of them. They did tell me that i would get it at Delhi, but i reached delhi, the batteries never. And yes Air Dhakkan was the airline
They are allowed as long as they are in the devices like cameras etc. I have taken them along on all my flights. However, you are not permitted to carry loose batteries. I asked a security person, as he was confisticating a few loose batteries from me and the reason given was "the loose batteries might cause sparking". I could do nothing but shrug and move along.

But i want to kno only abt BOM and MAA. And those idiot pandus wont even understand the DGCA permit besides the permit mentions nothin about the batteries though logically we all know

Pandus were better.....they knew the difference
Now its CISF.....and boy there are a lot of funny ppl here.......
My experience was at BOM. That was the only time I had some loose batteries in my bag, though they were fine about batteries in my camera. At HYD, COK, DEL, they have never raised objections about batteries in my camera.

Usually have problems (even with a battery in alarm clock in hold baggage) at the airports under defence control. Pune, Bagdogra, Goa are three places where battery had to be surrendered to security, a register entry made, battery handed over to cabin crew and returned later at destination after contacting the airport manager.

C,mon Boss ur worrying just like that. Not expected such a question from an aviation fan like you. Offcourse they are allowed. Nw lets move ahead next question plzz
MAA airport functioning has always been like a school (convent to be exact). They're the principal and teachers and ure the poor student. I was based in MAA for an year and a half. I would say, take a chance at it. If they let you go with it, fine, otherwise I guess we'll have to read ure trip report without the pictures...
