First Indian budget carrier to begin Singapore flights
SINGAPORE – Air India Express made its inaugural flight to Changi from Chennai yesterday and is the first India-based budget carrier to fly here. The carrier will operate 10 weekly flights on the Singapore-Chennai route from Changi Airport’s Terminal 1.
The flight departs Chennai at 11.55 am and arrives in Singapore at 6.20pm. The return flight leaves Singapore at 7.25pm and arriving in Chennai at 8.55pm.
In the first nine months of this year, total passenger movements between Singapore and India reached 1.5 million, a growth of 22 percent, compared to the same period in 2005.

KCM - this thread is perfectly OK - there's no reason to point out that it's a duplicate thread. I wish you would stop worrying about duplicate threads.
Yay! Bring it on, starting Jan MAA is being handed over to MI by SQ after taking over HYD, COK I think they'll hand over a couple of more loads to MI.
Silk Air (MI) to Chennai instead of Singapore Airlines (SQ)? Where did you get that information from? I checked the online reservation for Silk Air for travel dates in Feb, 2007, was told that Silk Air does not operate that route and instead referred to the Singapore Airlines website.

Not a point of worrying and yes its okay to start a new thread. But when there is a specific thread on the subject of where this particular airlines is going to fly to next, why try and break it up and create confusion? (The same is with the thread on wher Thai Airways is off to.)
(This was discussed earlietr, and there has to be cross linking or cross referencing. A little hard work of searching can make it nice for others also.)
The thread "Where AIX is off to next?" was built up well and before someone implies that maybe its a case of sour grapes (for me), let me be quick to point out again that its definitely not that.
I have posted a lot in other members threads and built those up quite well.
Last point is that the thread heading here is a bit misleading. Its about starting flights to Singapore as Air India Express is India's first international LCC, so it cant be starting flights to Chennai/Madras, but starting flights from Chennai/Madras instead to whereever .....
Can you let me know how to delete the posts, if it is duplicate I will pull it down. I cant seem to figure out to totally delete the whole post once poseted.
Regards
Srinivas

KCM - from the thread on site related:
# If there's a thread with a more "Generic" topic - feel free to use that Generic thread for a related post, but also feel free to start up a new thread if you feel it so dictates.
"Where's AIX off to next" is a generic title, while "AIX starts flights to MAA" is more specific, and hence it's left to the user to decide where he would like to post.
I would rather see comments only if it does not follow the principles from the site related thread. Otherwise it does unfortunately sound like a case of "sour grapes" (though that might not be your intention)
Thanks for the clarification KCM - we do appreciate all the news and views that you post across the board! It helps to get the news off the press in one place and not have to look all over the web.
