If you see Jet's current schedule, there are some interesting short-term flights listed:

Chandigarh-Jaipur on Oct 30,31
Chandigarh-Mumbai on Nov 3

Presumably these must be special flights in connection with the Champion's Trophy. As the flight numbers are 4-digits I suppose they are smaller aircraft (ATR-72)

In the India-England series earlier this year Go Air was handling charters for the England team. But they weren't listed in the schedules.

While on this topic, not all airlines clearly indicate the aircraft type in their schedules. Indian does, while some airlines like Go Air and SpiceJet have only one aircraft type. As far as I know Air Deccan flight nos starting with 6 or 7 are A320 while others are ATR-but there is no simple way to see if it is ATR-42 or 72. Similarly Jet's flights with 4 digits appear to be ATR-72. Can anyone correct this if it is wrong?

There are some 9W 737 flights with 4 digit flight nos: the night flights operated between DEL and BOM and also some domestic night flights oeprating as extensions for KLM/NW: dont remember the numbers/routes off hand, but 2451/2452 on BOM-HYD-BOM (usually a 737-400) is one. It might not be sold as an extension to the KLM/NW flight, but a casual look at the profile of pax on this flight should tell an interesting story! There is another flight to BLR as well opped with a 737-800.

My brother flew on a 9W flight from MAA to BOM last night. The flight number was 9W 2462 departing MAA at 2230 and arriving BOM at 0015. It was operated by a 737-700. I too was surprised at the four digit flight number. Any clues on this one?

All the Night saver flights are 4 digit coded. All of them with the exception of Blr-Bom-Blr are 737 aircraft operated.
