Small aircraft makes forced landing in Mumbai, catches fire
 Mumbai, Oct 13 (UNI)

A small aircraft with two persons on board caught fire after it made a forced landing soon after taking off from the Juhu airport here today.
The two persons on board the Beechcraft B-55 aircraft escaped with minor injuries.
‘‘The aircraft developed a technical snag soon after take- off. There were two passengers on board and both are safe. We are investigating the matter,’’ P K Shah, director of air safety in the civil aviation ministry, told PTI here.
The four-seat aircraft belonging to Container Movement Transport Ltd made the forced landing at about 11 am and caught fire after landing, Shah said.
‘‘We are investigating the matter. Details of the incident will be available once the investigation is over,’’ Shah said.
Earlier reports had suggested there were five persons in the aircraft.
The aircraft was removed from the tarmac to operationalise the airport, airport officials said.
A team of officials from the Airports Authority of India, and Directorate General of Civil Aviation visited the airport to make a detailed inquiry, they said.
The Beechcraft B-55 is a light-medium twin-engine aircraft made by the Beech Aircraft Corporation. It can carry five passengers including a pilot and can cruise at a speed of 373 kmph with a range of 1,836 km and a service ceiling of 6.305 km.

I remember seeing one Hindi movie song in which the crashed JAL DC-8 can be seen at Juhu airport. The song features Dharmendra flying a small a/c. Sorry I don't remember which movie it was.

I do not recall any SV B747 landing at Juhu. There was an incident where a SV B747 landed at Tambaram AFB instead of Chennai International. It had to be stripped of all interiors to enable it to take off from the very short rwy at Tamabaram.

Himmat is correct that was at Tambaram AFB.Aircraft used Min fuel & got all unnecessary weight off to clear the Short runway & fly few minutes to chennai.Where it was reassembled.
