First Flight ATP Freighter

First Flight ATP Freighter has started ops to BOM.Currently two flights.This 8 tonne capacity Aircraft has no APU.


Finally a 2nd Cargo operator in the country.Hopefully more will follow.

The passenger windows stay? Looks liek a converted frieghter? Shoudlnt they remove the windows during the conversion process??


 


Also First Flight is only the 2nd operator?

Normally the Windows are replaced by Al Plugs,as Windows need replacement over time.But its permissible.


There was Elbee with F27s earlier.


Currently only two domestic cargo operators.The 3rd might be Reliance.

I've seen this aircraft multiple times at Chennai over the last two months. Call sign was FirstFlight101 i think (can't recall exactly).

you mentioned no APU, so how do they handle the loading? External APU? Never done freighters in my life, so really have no clue. But is it common practice for freighters to remove APUs to increase payload?


I've seen some SQ Cargo 742Fs never tried to check if they had the APU or not.

The ATP has no APU hence uses GPU after Engine Shutdown.The Starters are Electrically operated  & not Pneumatically driven.More Advanced Aircraft have APUs installed.
