Hey Guys,
I booked a ticket through Internet today for DEL-GHY and back. I got a great prices. Rs 2500/- return fare. Now comes even the greater part. Appx Rs 2000/- in TAXES and Misc (Fuel Charge..etc). Now that's strange. Isn't it???? M paying almost a 100% tax . Let me know your views abt it.

Not surprising at all!!


You mention that you got Rs 2500. as the return fare, which is good. The taxes including fuel surcharge one way add upto around Rs 995. (Rs. 750 fuel surcharge plus Rs 225 govt. taxes). So, the total tax amount for a return ticket would be roughly Rs. 2000.

tickets from Bangalore to Chennai are only Rs.99 each way however the whole fare is Rs.2050 about.....crazy...still good but taxes are out of control!

PSF is INR 225
Fuel surcharge is INR 750

always use a portal to compare the prices of all airlines before booking.

This whole business of surcharges and taxes and fees is going out of control. Needs some co-ordinated effort by passengers, and very soon, maybe we can use our forum as a launch pad?
