Office does it.


If i do it personally, its through the airlines website or yes through their counters at the airport.


 


PS: Sir Mel, How do u jumpseat aka organise one for urself.

For personal trips, I use the airline website and for official trips, the company books through a travel agent.

There is a Circular containing names of Licenced personnell that can travel Jumpseat on the Company Aircraft.This could include Pilots,AMEs,Flight Despatchers,Load&trim sheeters,Directors etc.


If its on official duty then the schedule is prepared.If its a personal need then the HOD has to approve the same.This can be done via Company Email.

Dont be surprised but 5 years ago i have flown inthe jumpseat on BOM-Raipur sector and then Raipur-BBSR in the normal executive class


The jumpseat was obvious that i didnot have a ticket


Dont ask how it was managed also thanx to the captain and co-pilot of that IC-169 flight for co-operating

You would be on the Manifest & def a seat would be allotted.But because of Crew ok you moved to the Flight deck.You would not be taken as crew.


So if you check you will be in the Pax Manifest details.

Purely for academic reasons, is there a site wherein we can see what kind of a circular this is.....


Is it made by DGCA?


Is it an inhouse airline thing?


Please suggest and guide.

I do predominantly international work related travel, and hence it's mainly through travel agents. any domestic tickets are now directly off the company web site (due to ease of cancellation rules as opposed to booking from a portal).

For Personal domestic trips travel guru and for personal international trips the normal travel agents.
