I noted today that VT-KFM has "Kingfisher" painted on it's bottom. White letters in a red background.

Wow, the KF A321 looks really cool.

Would love to fly it as soon as it starts Ops. Me thinks they will use it on high density routes like BOM-DEL, DEL-BLR, what say?

The KFN is most likely to be deployed on BOM-DEL-BOM-GOI-BOM-DEL route and the BOM-BLR route.

When did IT order 321s? Their order was with 320s only.

Any Airbus news on that yet?

This info is from Airliners.net

Flightcrew of two. Maximum passenger accommodation in a high density layout of 220 passengers. Passenger accommodation in a typical two class arrangement consists of 16 passengers at four abreast, and 170 passengers at six abreast.

This is what a report in The HBL said:-

http://www.thehindubusinessline.com/2006/04/16/stories/2006041603210300.htm

So sure is Mr Mallya about the success of the new product that he has already decided that the Airbus A-321 aircraft that the airline will be receiving in October this year will have 32 first class seats instead of the 20 which will be available on the Airbus A-320 at present.

That is going to be a lot of hard work for the sales/marketing people. But then again, the B-737-900 that 9W has is also kitted out with 32 Business Class, and often the morning/evening flights on DEL-BOM go full in Business Class.

C,mon just becoz u saw a press report just giving a hint as to hw much would be the loss for KF doesnt mean they are bankrupt, They are facing problems, They are dead in debt. The airline is closing down lol. Relax matie...

I am sure they would have anticipated all this before starting an airline otherwise they would have never jumped a gun.

Surprisingly what i wanted to ask pax who hav flied KF is have they ever got a cheaper fare on them. Each time i try to engage them their prices too much higher.

Yup, what I notice lately is that Kingfisher fares on some routes/flights seem to moving down, and could be competing with the LCC fares for that date/time. But that also means that LCC fares have started moving up lately, especially SpiceJet. Expect Air Deccan to swing bye and knock the prices down again soon.

Another thing - the payout for the A-380 delay could be much higher than anticipated. Take a look at what Virgin Atlantic is asking fo, as they expect the A-380 to be delayed to atleast 2010.

Which should put Air India's Boeing orders right up there in the list of valuable assets.

Virgin Atlantic A380s are delayed till 2013 not 2010. Seems Branson gave the chance to Airbus to ease their tensions of deliveries.

I have made my statement on the basis of Mallya's earning vs expenditures.

He's spending hell on salaries, facilities, fleets, and other stuff like helicopter services. But in return his fares are almost same in some routes as 9W and IC. In some routes they are expensive. Such routes only people capable to afford can fly. Why pay 2000-3000 more just to watch some movies ( that to not full movies) or some tv stuff or hear some songs or see his chicks? Nah! Not worth it.

Although true he has money flowing in because of his daru buzinezz but again the stocks are limited. He cannot use his entire profit from his drinks into his airline...otherwise Kingfisher beers will be history.

Some wise man once said " to make a million dollars in aviation, you have to start with a billion"

Airline business has a very thin profit margin to begin with and with all the added competetion it is going to be very difficult to make money.

So true... A380 bro i reckon that KF has never been an affordable carrier thats why its problems are much more at a massive scale. I remember when they started they were competing well on the price front with other airlines. Bt nw its totally a different story.

I have never seen a low fare on KF at all. Its always a couple of hundred ruppees more than Jet or Sahara.

Surprisingly the same is with IC. Though i do see intense competetion on the fare front between Sahara, SpiceJet and Jet..

Tough times for most Indian based Airlines.Losses mounting apart from Freighter operators.Considering the Investments a loss of 2-3 yrs would be tolerable & catered for.Its thereafter that counts.

Hopefully the high profits start soon.
