Permalink Closed

Hi guys

I would really appreciate if someone could help me.I am flying DEL-LHR tomorrow 2nd SEP by BA256 economy.I am really confused over the handbag scene. Are we alowed to take a handbag on board. I am also carrying a Laptop along. The Govt has allowed laptop but whats the scene with the hand bag.i called up BA customer care 4 times and i got 4 different answers everytime. One said u can carry Handbag+Laptop, one said either and one said no hand bag allowed. So whats the deal. Please reply ASAP.

Hey guys one more question.which side of the aircraft should I ask a seat for.column A(left) or K(right). Both windows.i have heard that right side gives u scenic views. Is it true.Ill try and write a trip report though I dont have camera as of now. Please reply asap.

Thanks

Regards

Gaurav

Gaurav,

I landed up in an argument with a CISF guy at the airport just a few days ago for carrying a laptop and a handbag, which according to him, is not allowed these days. Apparantly, the airline call centers do not have similar details to furnish and the check-in agent didnt bother to tell me as well (he saw me holding two bags). This incident, however, happened at the domestic airport. I pretty much believe its the same scenario at the intl airport as well.

Suggest you to keep some space in your handbag "in case" you need to shove the laptop in if they dont let you in with it OR speak to the Airport Customer Care for BA after office hours, they might have something concrete to tell ya.

Hope this helps.. Sorry, know nothing about the scenic views, awaiting a trip report.

Have a safe journey.

I will tell u incase by any chance u check the website tonite as its 1sept anyways as my cuz just came back from Dublin. Well first of all no liquids or gels in the cabin baggage. U can carry either of the one ie either the laptop or some other carry on hand baggage. They werent allowing both the items. Infact if u hav a Dell Laptop maybe they might ask u to remove the battery but i guess we indians are not much Dell users...

Have a safe flight...
