My vote goes to Bengali Sweets in Delhi followed by that joint in Dadar West (I am not able to remember it's name). It is famous for Vada Pavs also.

Gupta Bhel puri at Chembur station - Mumbai. This joint was Raj Kapoors favourite, if celebrity loyalty can be used as a measure of excellence.

Another good joint is the sindhi bloke outside Elco Arcade in Bandra - off Linking Road. I am not sure if this place still exists. The last i had been there was over 12yrs back.

Well i am one hell of a foodie i am really shocked hwcome i didnt notice this thread. My List goes quite long so here we go..

Mughalai Food has 2 catagories authentic or punjabi

For Authentic I like Aap ke khatir ( In Hazrat Nizzamuddin) near Humau tomb. Karims have started many outlets in delhi so try at any of them . Then the great kabab factory at raddissons is worth paying a visit too.

For Punjabi it has to be Colonel Kabab at Def col mkt, various resturants including moti mahal on pandara road.

Chinese rather i should say cantonese cuisine again bifurcates into 2 catagories ie authentic and our nakli indian chinese

for authentic try out House of Ming in Oberoi Hotel delhi, Sampan in Surya Crown plaza in NFC also gives u a good choice. Then claridges delhi serves u good chinese sorrie i am forgetting the name of the resturant. Then the cheapest of above all but authentic food is The chinese in middle circle CP with avg meal for 2 without alcohol costing around INR 1200

Then for our beloved indian chinese which we all are quite familiar with

For Indian chinese many resturants in Cp which includes Nirula,s chinese room and Bercos and many others...

For thai cuisine

Try bangkok degree 8 in Sanik farms Saket its pretty gud...

For Japanese cuisine

1 and only Metropolitan Nikko Hotel on baba Kharak Singh Marg near Bangla sahib Gurudwara..

For fast food u have the ususal ie KFC, MCDonalds, Subway, even Nirulas is gud.

For south indian we all knw its Sagar ratna no one beats them ....

For chat i guess there was a famous chatwalla in chandni chowk besides haldirams plus the famous parantha walli galli....

LoL i guess plenty of info....

for me it is "matar ki chaat and kulcha" and Lajpat Nagar central market.  The guy sits in the park turned parking lot.  Believe me, the stuff is real hot and people are all over him to grab it.

I checked out Kobe's Sizzlers @ the Garuda Mall BLR. Not as good as Yoko's but better than other sizzler joints in BLR.
