VT WAC an A320 belonging to GoAir had a bird strike on take off roll. Capt continued with TO and returned with full emergency on one engine. Engine looked pretty okay for a bird hit, I think around 8 blades were damaged and only one looked seriously broken. Birds are a big time problem these days suddenly. But then as the old man always says "the sky belongs to the birds, you're intruding their area not vice versa".
Well yesterday BLR ATC was cautioning all a/c about "bird activity around Taxiway Whisky one", and brought out "Mobile one to clear birds from vicinity". I don't think that helped too much, since there were still a lot of birds in the vicinity (and that area gets the heavier kites/eagles, not the lighter sparrows/pigeons).
