Hi,

Due to changed wind conditions at DEL,the airplanes are approaching from the opposite side i.e. the Dwarka side.Since, I live in Dwarka so all the planes pass right next to my place on their approach.So, there is no need to go to JNU and you can come and do some spotting at my place if you wish to.

Delapproach! I woudl LOVE that!!

Infact i have been closely monitering the traffic, and they were taking off from the JNU side when i was there 2 weeks ago but still managed to get some decent shots. I would LOVE to take up your offer. I think it will be perfect.

I have a few questions though, what is the proximity of the planes landing to the point we will be standing at? I have a decent zoom lens (70-300 IS USM) but i would still feel better if they were close enough to not use so much zoom power.

Do let me know. Do they pass right over your house?

I live in apartments.The terrace on the 9 floor makes all the planes pass through at eye level or even below that.I do spotting daily after I come back from college.I see CO,AA,AC,BA all of them daily.Even Peter Max.Its coming to DEL tomorrow.

Well guys i wud love to join u as i am now permanently based in Delhi ( faridabad to be precise). Yeah when i flew TG my last sunday my plane landed from Dwarka side too. BTW guys i have a radio scanner with me and its real fun listening to delhi approach...

Today I went past Dwarka Sector-9 Metro Station and had some xcellent views from there.Wish i had my camera.So when are all of you coming to meet up for a day of spotting.This is the best time and I have found very cool locations for spotting in Dwarka.

MEL i am using a maycom 108 AR radio scanner. very small and pretty handy and voice clarity seems to be gud too. This baby cost me like 150 AUD.

Vabby - can you listen to teh ATC from Faridabad? Wow - that's something!! Can you hear both sides of the conversation, and all the frequencies - approach/tower/ground etc?
