Longer and taller than current generation Boeing 737 airplanes, the Holden Airship will complete its maiden voyage on Friday night when it floats over Sydney Harbour having departed Melbourne Airport last week.
It is expected to be over the harbour at 6pm.
Stretching 54.3 metres across and 6.8 metres tall it is filled with approximately five million litres of helium.
The red airship also boasts a giant television screen designed specially so it can be viewed from the ground.
Holden says it is the first airship in the world to have such a screen, which is 21.3 metres wide and 9.1 metres tall.
