not sure, but could it be somehow related to one of their B772s stranded at DEL?

Could be to do with the London Terror Plot, rescheduling and cabin baggage going in as Hold baggage.

On August 10, 2006, Indian Express said:"The state-owned carrier also has two terminator flights -- Ahmedabad-London and Delhi-Dhaka-Kolkata-London -- which were delayed and are also likely to be delayed for a few days due to the security measures."

Its not only AI 150 and AI 151 that are cancelled.The following flights are also cancelled on the 12 Aug.

AI 520-DEL-DAC

AI 531-DAC-CCU

The aircraft that operates the above routes operates to London as well.So may be its somewhat related to VT-AIJ being stuck at DEL.The following AI flights seem to be cancelled:

AI 520 DEL-DAC On 12 Aug.

AI 531 DAC-CCU On 12 Aug.

AI 151 CCU-LHR On 12 Aug.

AI 150 LHR-CCU On 12 Aug.

AI 530 CCU-DAC On 13 Aug.

AI 521 DAC-DEL On 13 Aug.

Why is VT-AIJ stuck in Delhi ??

Is VT-AIJ chistened Neelambari. If so i have flown it a few times on CCU-Lhr-CCU routes. Its normally Neelambari or Megh Malhar which operates this route, though i did see the Hamswadhani at Kolkata Airport on Sunday afternoon.

While the first 2 are B772-ER aircrafts Hamswadhani is B772-A . What is the difference in these 2 types of 777;s ?

VT-AIK is Megh Malhaar.Its a 777-222/ER.

VT-AIL is Kalyani.Its a 777-222/ER.

VT-AIJ is Neelambari.Its a 777-222/ER.

VT-AIR is Hamsadhwani.Its a 777-222 and not an ER version.
