Free Eye Check Up Camp in Mumbai on 15th August 06

A FREE EYE CHECK UP CAMP is being conducted on Tuesday, August 15th, 2006.
The camp will be conducted from Morning 10AM to 2PM.
Venue is Ketayun Mansion, Sahaji Raje Marg, Koldongri,  Vile Parle East, Mumbai 57. This is the same lane

Please if you know someone who would like to get the eyes checked, please request them to visit the place and oblige. This is a camp by leading eye surgeon and his team of optometerists.
 
Free medicines will also be provided.
 
(I would like to request that this is the first such kind of post and i most humbly feel that we as Airliners-India.Net should support by giving such philanthropic acts more and more coverage and make sure that the common man is able to benefit.)
(I am sure that in our love for aviation, many of us are associated with people/loaders/handlers/refullers/drivers/assistants who are not of economic capabilities, but would love to get their eyes checked).
 
(I got this message and decided to ensure that many people would benefit).

 FREE EYE CHECK UP CAMP is being conducted on Tuesday, August 15th, 2006. Free Eye Drops Will Be Provided.
The camp will be conducted from Morning 10AM to 2PM.
Venue is Ketayun Mansion, Sahaji Raje Marg, Koldongri,  Vile Parle East, Mumbai 57. This is the same lane that connects Shaan Talkies/Parle Glucose Factory to the Andheri Sahar Road. Landmark is Near Prabodhankar Thackeray Krida Sankul.

I am surprised that our fraternity either has no soul or is very selective of helping people.....and we all dream of making India a better place.


What more scarlett can we be, if we all cannot move hand in hand and promote a common cause and help the needy and yes the society at large in making the world a better place to live in.

Dear Concerned Mumbaikar, 


 


Greetings. We all want to do something for our city, but do not know how to help or where to start. With the recent water deluge and the blasts, we feel that we need to take up the cudgels for our own self. 


 


Our trust is organizing a free eye camp to help people realize the importance of eyes and how to take care of them and send across a message of eye donation.


 


The FREE EYE CHECK UP CAMP will be held on Tuesday, August 15th, 2006 from 10AM to 2PM at Ketayun mansion, Sahaji Raje Marg, Koldongri, Vile Parle East, M-57.


People can call 9833621440 for more information.


 


Our trust has a very methodical approach towards the entire camp & follow the same in stages.


·      We have a registration counter wherein the process of assisting the person with his personal details is handled with.


·      A token is issued.


·      A first check is done on an auto refractometer for assessing vision normalcy.


·      If a prior lens or spectacle is being used, then another test of an auto lens-meter is conducted.


·      Optometrists assess the person and writes comments on the registration form.


·      The person is then directed to the Hon. Doctor for advice and further checkup.


·      The person hands over the registration paper at the submission counter & is issued free eye drops (if prescribed).


·      The person is directed towards the eye donation counter for information purposes.


·      The person is re-checked by a volunteer and guided accordingly to explain him/her the entire process and is issued a laminated card with his number reading (if any).


 


Display of some foundation banners for awareness and eye knowledge are also put up.


 


Please help us in spreading this information of free eye camp and oblige.

Let your actions speak louder than words has always been the mantra of many noble people. We, aviators can only follow and take lead in some of the magnanimous ways shown by our leaders.....

Today, Mumbai Mirror, Page 60 listed in its workshop the Free Eye Camp Details.


We remain both grateful and thankful for their support and media awareness of the free eye camp on August 15th, 2005.

A 72 year old retired Air Indian Engineer Shri F. N.Mistry read our message and has agreed to volunteer with his wife Mrs.Roshan Mistry on the day of the camp.


It is such a noble deed and inspiration that i wish to salute such indians, and yes air indians who are so benevolent and wish to volunteer towards this effort.


My thousand pranams to the duo.


Also, today Navbharat helped promote the camp news.


Bisleri has given us free water towards the people.


Carl Zeiss has given free tshirts to the people, volunteering in the camp.


Tommorrow is the D-Day. O lord help me serve humanity.

Thank you Aseem for lauding our efforts and of those people who helped us make the event possible and successful.


We wish to thank the AEF team, the Bisleri team, the Zeiss team, Navbharat, Mumbai Mirror, DNA, Times Of India, Zee Marathi, Ctv and In Mumbai and yes the Senior Citizens Mr & Mrs Mistry.


A total of about 349 people were checked from 10:30 to 3:30 and were given free medicines, free laminated cards with refraction (if any) and guidance on eye donation was given.


Thank you Mumbai for helping us keep your spirit alive.

Thank you for the encouragement. A wise man had once said :


"It is not that nice guys finish first, they are winners even before the game starts".


We thank the aviation fraternity who had the soul to lend us this platform and help promote the awareness of the FREE EYE CHECK UP CAMP.


We all remain in debt of the society and wish that GOD give us another opportunity to return the favour.
