A scam from the past

This happened in the 1960s.
Then, as now, a lot of young people in Punjab were keen to migrate to Western countries. And there was no shortage of helpful agents who helped them realise their dreams.
One of these agents got hold of a group of "murgas" and took large sums of money from them and promised to fly them to Britain. On the appointed day they were marched to Amritsar airport where a DC-3 awaited them.
As you may guess, the plane took off and landed at Delhi after an hour or so.
The agent was untraced, and the charter company merely said that they had been hired to fly from Amritsar to Delhi.

Today, this trick wouldn't work and things have got more sophisticated. Nowadays people are dumped at some convenient intermediate spot like Lebanon or Jordan and are left to their own devices there. In fact the Indian Embassy in Lebanon is having to deal with a number of such "murgas" today.

theres one story (unconfirmed) i heard as a teenager of murgas from punjab being boarded onto a boat of the coast of gujrat, only to be sailed down the coast to kerala where they were asked to alight and scoot as they were in the gulf. Apparently after the group failed to see a single arab among the many malabaris  (the ratio in gulf is 2 arabs to every 8 mallus) they smelled the rat and ended up taking a train back home.

and even the term has changed now to "Kabutar".  Nowadays the trick is to join the troops of Daler Paaji, dance in Dubai and then fly away whereever you want.  Also recently it was in the news that one Indian County Cricket player went missing. Aisa bhi hota hai!!

India is a land of milk and honey. It is this same country where millions of idols are fed thousands of litres of milk, but people will not feed a hungry child.

Yeh hai India....yahan aisa hamesha se hota hai.

Now ur POINT BLANK on it

Just got this email few days ago...

Manmohan and Bush are sitting in a bar. A guy walks in and asks the barman, "Isn't that Bush and Manmohan?"

The barman says "Yep, that's them." So the guy walks
over
and says, "Hello, what are you guys doing?"

Bush says, "We're planning world war 3"

The guy says, "Really? What's going to happen?"

And Manmohan says, "Well, we're going to kill 14
million
Pakistanis and one bicycle repairman."

And the guy exclaimed, "A bicycle repairman?!!!"

Manmohan turns to Bush and says, "See, I told you
no-one
would worry about the 14 million Pakistanis!"
