I was just scrolling through airliners.net and saw this 747


Boeing 747SP-86


Can someone pls tell me about this i thought this existed only in modified airliners photos

savour every chance i get to see her....most often i've seen the beautiful Iran Air bird...

SAA no longer operate them...

why does Iran Air have to fly this to BOM.  Sheer wastage of its range, or maybe they have nowhere else to fly to. 


BTW!! It was hot favourite of SAA during the apartheid era when they were not allowed to land anywhere else in Africa and had to fly over to LHR etc.

Iran Air dont fly it often to BOM.... the A300s/A310s do active duty on the sector

depends on loads...

It looks as if someone squeezed it and SAA operate a B747-400 these days and not the SP version

Many SP Versions are now personal crafts too of big dignitaries and yes lovers of the JUMBO JET
