One guy has been arrested for setting up a fake website of Spicejet. This guy managed to collect Rs. 6.00 lakhs through sale of tickets and online job applications. I can imagine people being fooled by the website and booking 'tickets' through this website but why would aybody in his/her right mind pay for a job application on a company website? The guy has now been arrested. The link does not mention the name of his website.
I think I need to put this on the net - my credit card was charged for 5000/- worth of VSNL transactions during July'06 - and one reason that I was told could be because I do a lot of Internet airline ticketing.
Some of the airlines do not use secure technology, it seems, and I am not surprised that somebody pulled off 6 lakhs worth of transactions.
Need to do a review on the transaction securities offered by the newer airlines offering web ticketing. Report shall be put up in a while.

It would have been interesting to compare the authentic & the fake sites. But, now that the fake version has been discovered, it must have been closed, right?
