(I posted this before, but it doesn't seem to have uploaded . . . )
A friend of mine had a rough experience on a Delhi - Amritsar flight, domestic passenger on the Air India flight going on to UK. He was pulled out just before boarding and asked to show some photo identity. When he showed his passport, the Air India staff confiscated it and were very rude to him throughout.
In addition he was escorted on board last, was made to wait till everybody else disembarked, was handled very rudely by Air India at Amritsar again, and then had to wait some more to claim his passport back from Amritsar immigration.
One thing he saw the cabin crew do was fill out an HOP form.
Any idea what an HOP form is and what this was all about?
He has an RTI Application filed on the subject.

I've never heard of the HOP form before, but we can presume that H was for Hijack.
No, that was clarified, it was not a security issue.
The cabin crew was one Ashwin and the Flight Manager was another Ashwini or something. Shall place the RTI application on this subject here in a while.

Nothing extraordinary. Three people (father, son and a friend) all respectable businessmen from Amritsar taking a morning flight from Delhi to AMritsar instead of the Shatabadi Express. Perfectly normal entry, check-in, bye-pass Immigration and Customs, primary security frisking and wait in the holding/sanitised area.
The trouble seems to have started only when heading for the aircraft through the aerobridge.
Pax in question is known to me, reasonable young tech-savvy man with a responsible and stable head on his shoulders. Since the real misbehaviour and attitude issues by Air India started after the doors were closed, he kept his peace, as advised. On landing also, since he is known at Amritsar, he kept his peace. But he documented everything, and started a correspondence and a complaint with Air India, which obviously did not get any responses.
So now this has escalated into an RTI Application (Right to Information Application, you can see the details on http:cic.gov.in or even on the Air India website) where he asks broadly:-
a) What happened to his complaint, was an enquiry held?
b) What is the meaning of this complete episode?
c) How does airline staff on a domestic sector, before doors close, assume the role of the Immigration Department?
+++
So query still stands - what is a HOP form?

Uhhhhm, I don't know, works quite well, if you ask me, and I've helped co-pilot almost 200 RTI Applications so far.
