Air Deccan will launch flights on BLR-PNQ sector on August 1st. It departs BLR at 9.55 AM and reaches PNQ at 11.15 AM. On the return sector it leaves PNQ at 6.40 PM and reaches BLR at 8.00 PM.
Does seem like a fair bit of competition, but I have no doubts that DN will do well on this route. It's a route with both business and VFR traffic, and DN can certainly cater to the VFR traffic, and some of the business traffic as well.
Rush-hour traffic on PNQ-BLR-PNQ all through the day!! DN and its 1840 departure for BLR will be bang in the middle of the evening rush.
In addition, both Indigo and GoAir are launching DEL-PNQ-DEL during August'06 and I plan to be on the inaugural flights for both of them.
DN is fine, but they have to do something about seat-asignments on A-320s, or atleast boarding in groups (like on SW) instead of making people stand in line.
