Jet enters into reciprocal alliance with Swiss Intl Airlines New Delhi, July 14: Strengthening its arrangements with global airlines, Jet Airways today said it has entered into a reciprocal flyer programme alliance with Swiss International Airlines that will allow frequent flyers on both the airlines to earn and redeem miles.
The Indian private carrier has already entered into different kinds of tie-ups with several foreign airlines, including code share arrangements.
Under its agreement with Swiss which comes into effect tomorrow, the Jet privilege (frequent flyer programme) members would be able to accrue and redeem JP miles on all Swiss operated flights.
The partnership would also allow members of Lufthansa's 'miles and more' members to earn and burn miles of Jet, the private carrier informed the Bombay Stock Exchange.
The new arrangement would allow frequent flyers of both airlines to earn miles on Jet's 48 domestic and international destinations and 69 of the Swiss.
Jet CEO Wolfgang Prock-Schauer said "with Switzerland increasingly becoming a favoured holiday destination, we are confident that Jet privilege members will benefit from the synergies created by this partnership".

Someone on the A.net forums for the Indian Aviation Thread said something about it... so i thought id share it here.
Also id like to say... its not really unexpected because of LH ownership over LX and their subsequent conversion of all mileage and product offerings into the LH family as our own... this agreement was just a matter of time.... since the Swiss cirlce and their earlier mileage programme now exists as the "Miles and More" program... which is parent Lufthansa's milegae/customer loyalty scheme..... so essentially it is the same thing..... as LX and LH mileage card holders are now unified and enjoy the same status/qualifications.... as well as both airlines programes are now harmonised.
since im not a member of the A.net forums..... maybe someone could tell it to the respective gentleman who posted that snippet on the thread.
i wouldnt have specific information on the 9W code share... since code shares are governed by specific rules and regulations... with IATA approval so on and so forth...
This is just a mileage/customer loyalty scheme they have agreed to..
Dont know about LX but LH is definately light years ahead of 9W in many means of my statement their service, quality, cabin crews, even their chocolates

how can you even compare LX and 9W??... LX my friend are known the world over for their standards and friendliness.... as much as it may sting me a bit sometimes... they are even known to be better than us Germans at times...
they are simply in a class of their own compared to 9W
I compare LX and 9W because I have used both, and this is my personal opinion, that's all. Nothing to do with nationalities or other airlines, thank you.

i wasnt referring to nationalities per se.... 9W and LX cannot be compared on a vast number of grounds other than nationalities..... size /service/sectors and quality being the other parameters

If size was a parameter then Aeroflot would be the best. Actually, they are, often.
If service was a parameter then you need to fly 9W and LX both before saying anything.
If sectors is what it is about, then take a look at 9W's map.

Well - I've seen LH's standards, and I definitely prefer 9W service to LH service. Once on board, I might even say AI service is better than LH! I've never flown LX, but assuming it's the same "German service", it's got to be similar.

Where LH wins every-time is:
1. Hub FRA 2. Ontime/reliable 3. Integration with *A! 4. Much better ground staff/ticketing staff (Compared to AI).
To all: Any rascist comments are not welcome on this board, neither are any false accusations of rascism. Misunderstandings are normal, but it's important to set the record straight.
I do not want the unrelated discussion to stay on this thread - hence have edited all the earlier posts and taken out anything unrelated to the thread.
Thanks Malik and DABTH for your understanding/cooperation.
Back to the topic, it would be interesting to see 9W tie up with some other *A founder member (AC or UA or SK). If that does happen, it's almost certain they'll be heading into *A.
