Air Deccan Rs 7 crore facility to overhaull Aircraft at Chennai

Low cost Airlines Air Deccan will set up engineering facility at Chennai with initial investment of Rs seven crore to overhaul the Airbus, aircrafts.
The company has already taken position of 54000 square ft allloted to it by the Airports Authority of India(AAI) at Chennai airport for setting up its facility.
 Talking to newspersons today on the occasion of launching an additional flight to Tirupati from here, Aviation Head, Corporate Planning, R Krishna Swamy said the signing of the land agreement is expected in next ten days and the first brick is expected to be laid by August.
Mr Swamy said the engineering facility, which can ’strip open’ the air bus is likely to be ready over the next seven-eight months after the first brick laying.
Already the Aviation sector is talking about establishment of a Central Training establishment over the next one year by the time its new Aircraft starts joining the fleet.
 The airlines which has already one hanger at Kolkata airport is planning to add a new one for servicing the ATR aircrafts.
 The Aviation Company which has presently 34 Aircrafts and has placed orders for 44 new Aircrafts, will set up a Simulator Centre at Bangalore to train pilots of their Airbus category.
With the new Hyderabad International Airport coming up here, the Company is also holding negotiation with the Managements of the Private-Public partnership greenfield airport coming up at Shamshabad for ‘‘a place to provide engineering support for its aircrafts in the coming years’’, he added.
