Jet imposes additional fuel surcharge. Others likely to follow.

Jet Airways has imposed an additional fuel surcharge of Rs. 200-300. This is due to an increase in the prices of ATF. Other airlines are likely to follow.

ATF prices are amongst the highest in India due to very high Sales Tax. This differs from state to state. ATF price in Mumbai is now Rs. 42731.00 per kilo liter. Can somebody explain what a kilo liter is?

1 kilo liter = 1,000 litres.

Any1 any idea how much kilo litres of fuel wud a B737-800 consume an average approx figure

That would be approx Rs 42/- per litre.


How much would be the Fuel consumption is diifficult to tell as there are numerous factors to consider.Engine condition,weather,Temperature,airframe drag to name a few.

I remember reading somewhere that as the distance travelled increases, the fuel economy also increases. Any explanations why?

Longer Cruise,Higher Altitudes,Less Drag,better Fuel Economy.
