Flights are Flying with a Few Delays. The Nights had less rain. The Day has had a lot already.Waterlogging persists. But nothing like the Cloudburst last Year.
Olly.....Thinking about the Rains.Hows the Heat out there.
Dubai receives all the possible Indian channels...NDTV, Star, Zee, Sony...etc...in addition to channels from all over the world.
But not much time to sit n watch these. Personally, I prefer to read the Times of India's online 'E-Paper'. Nothing like reading the Bombay edition of the ToI just the way it's printed. Makes me feel like I'm in BOM
visibility is still poor and RVR is fluctuating between 1050 m to 800m. Not a big problem as far as landings is concerned. But strong crosswinds persists on approach !. 20 to 40 minute delays are evident and unavoidable !
Last year was a Cloud burst,Chances of that occuring are Remote.
Today the Airports had heavy Rain with Winds. In fact 09-27 was closed for a few hrs in the Afternoon.
Visibility dropped to 1500 on 14-32.
Crazy Time.
Noticed Primer paint on S2 B767 Fuselage in 9W Hangar, but again Visibility was bad & I had an AOG to attend.Could not go to old Airport to confirm. The Tail section is in S2 colours def.

Yesterday my dad returned to BOM from goa by kingfisher flight IT112. The flight was supposed to depart at 1630. It departed at 1910 as the incoming flight from BOM was late.
Mumbai: Incessant rain damaged portions of the main runway, leading to its closure for two hours for repairs on Wednesday afternoon. The closure affected flight schedules for the rest of the day. About 10 domestic flights were cancelled, some were combined and those which took off or landed did so after a delay that ranged between 45 minutes and three hours. International flights, too, were delayed by 30 minutes to an hour. “Some sections of the main runway had peeled off because of the continuous rainfall and we had to carry out urgent repairs,’’ Airports Authority of India director R Treasuryvala said. The asphalt gave way and the gravel underneath was exposed, other officials explained. As the main runway (09-27) was closed for operations from 2 pm to 4 pm, the secondary runway (14-32) was opened up though flights could not land on this runway. “Unlike the main runway, where flights can be operted even with a minimum visibility of 220 metres, the secondary runway needs a minimum visibility of 1,800 metres for operations. As the visibility has not been that high since yesterday, no flight landed or took off when the main runway was closed,’’ an air traffic control official said. The flights, which came in during that time from the north, were diverted to airports in Ahmedabad and Vadodara and flights from the south were diverted to places like Hyderabad and Bangalore. The diversions affected the flight schedules for the rest of the day as airlines had to cancel/combine flights because of non-availability of aircraft. Flight diversions, however, started in the morning itself. Indian Airlines, for instance, diverted its Delhi-Mumbai and Sharjah-Cochin-Calicut-Mumbai flights to Ahmedabad in the morning and a Bangalore-Mumbai flight was sent back to Bangalore in the afternoon.
