Camera friendly airports in India?
Permalink Closed

Hi All,

Which is the most spectacular airport in India to photograph landings/take-offs at close range?

These are the requirements that I am looking for:

1) Easy accessibility from BOM (direct flights preferably)

2) Scenic location (no obstructing buildings, etc)

3) Photography friendly (civil airport, tourist friendly, no pesky cops/security personnel)

4) Good air traffic in daylight

Any ideas folks?

I guess, DEL would be great. If you are able to get access to a terrace of any building just across the DEL-JAI highway. The highway is almost at the edge of rwy 27. You will be able to get great shots of a/c approaching on rwy 27.

Naah Himmat not any more. Initially whenever my dad used to go abroad me and the driver used to come early just park the car in front of the runway on NH8 Delhi-Jaipur highway and have icecream and watch planes. Suddenly the place really became a picnic spot. So now thats a tow way zone with strict no photography. There is guard keeping a constant vigil atleast during the daylight..

I wud say go to Cochin it has an observatory deck where u can click photos .

Second would be Madras. Go to Mt thomas church there u get a whole view of the airport there
